Does Your Organization Prioritize Social Media Over Other Duties?
“Organizations are cautious about dedicating resources to social media, and adding social media to the list of tasks traditionally assigned to communicators” Survey reported.
A recent survey conducted by the joint collaboration of Ragan Communications and NASDAQ OMX revealed that 27% of companies have employee(s) exclusively for focusing on social media marketing.
The poll was conducted on around 2700 employees related solely to social media marketing profession and it showed that 65% of companies have social media as their top most priority i.e. preference over there other duties.
The survey also revealed that:
- Sixty five percent of organizations pile social media on top of other responsibilities, while only 27 percent have someone who focuses exclusively on social media.
- Social media budgets remained flat in 2012, and are unlikely to increase in 2013.
- Seventy percent of respondents are either “dissatisfied” or only “somewhat satisfied” with how they measure their social media efforts, compared to a mere 31 percent who are “satisfied” or “very satisfied.”
So, the survey clearly shows that companies take social media marketing as a major tool of marketing and considers it as a ‘must have’ part of the modern day business.
