Facebook VS Google Plus-The Social Media War
The competition in business world is an obvious thing and it helps the customers to get the quality and new (better) products over reasonable prices. But nobody would have thought that the same thing is going to happen in the e-world also. Earlier, the websites were developed to entertain people but with the extension of internet facility all across the globe and its reach to the general public just make the business giants to cash this field also. Now, this virtual business world has also become a market and it has as tough competition as any other field.
Facebook is one of the most favorite and largely used social networks of this world with users of all genders, community, race and culture. It’s a network which helps to enhance the social circle of the people of their interest. Undoubtedly Facebook has ruled over the social media category. Different companies launched other social networking websites but no one could reach the height
On the other hand, the king of Search Engines Google who changed the meaning of “search” to “Google It” started to play its role in social media after the success of the unleashed search engine. Google+ or g+ is the newly born social media website with different features to give a tough time to Facebook. It’s tough question to answer that who is going to win the social media world.
Let’s have a look on the features and aspects of Facebook and Google+ to judge the superiority.
Design is of course an important factor as the outlook matters a lot to the new user. The outlook of Facebook is quite user friendly or in other words its really ‘cool”. The main reason behind this fact is the blue theme of Facebook on the other hand Google+ doesn’t really have any such theme or attractive background or user friendly interface.
So here, Facebook wins.
Friends List/ Circles:
Like other social interaction websites and services, these two also these feature. Facebook has a friend list and subscribe feature, listing your friends in an alphabetical order. On the other hand G+ came with a quite unique idea of “Circles” i.e. you can add your friends to your circles and will receive their updates on your wall no matter either they add you or not (just like subscribe feature of Facebook).
Multimedia Sharing (Pictures, Videos, Links etc):
Both of these websites allow you to share videos, pictures, link on you’re or at your friend’s wall with the tagging facility also. The main feature of Google+ is that you can play video directly via YouTube while remaining on your G+ page just by clicking the icon on the top right side of your G+ home page , just above your “In your circles” heading. It also enables you to upload videos from your computer and even from your phone.
Facebook allows you simple sharing and uploading of video s by pasting the URL of video.
The most sensitive and important area. The pictures and personal bio data are confidential info so it should be you to decide what to share with people out there. Facebook gives you the most suitable and flexible options to control your sharing, either posts, pictures, videos and your personal info too. Google+ somehow provides you this feature but not in a way like facebook and has some lacking in his privacy control.
Corporate Point of View:
Other than personal accounts and fun Facebook is an excellent platform to market your business and turn your product into a brand. With the feature of creating pages Facebook allows you to create your business pages and to get more attraction of your desired and targeted audience as Facebook is a global platform and people from everywhere in the world are connected to it. It provides you the best way to interact with your customers and to run different business strategies via this platform.
Google+ has just launched this feature and it’s popular that much like Facebook. Here the experience wins and old is gold makes his ground.
No of Users:
The conclusion made from above facts makes the Facebook still dominant over Google+ even though most common factors and features e.g. “like”, “+1” , games, applications and other stuffs are not discussed over here because they would have just balanced each side therefore just by considering the bold features made us to conclude a result. So, from the facts it’s decided that Facebook still rules on the Social Media world and on the minds of people.
